This amount is 200 billion won less than the original proposal submitted by the government.

According to political circles on the 3rd, the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Special Committee's budget adjustment subcommittee finalized a plan to cut 200 billion won from the government's submitted 35.3 trillion won. The subcommittee, composed only of Democratic Party members, began the supplementary budget review process over three days starting from the 1st.

Earlier, Park Hong-geun, the Democratic Party's secretary of the Budget Committee, held a press briefing that morning and stated, "As a result of the review, we adjusted the supplementary budget scale to reduce it compared to the government's proposal," expressing intentions to cut budgets for the Hope Work program and high-efficiency home appliance purchase rebates.

The National Assembly plans to finalize the third supplementary budget bill at the plenary session scheduled for 10 p.m. that day.
