[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Energy Agency (KEA) announced that it held the first performance of the energy-themed original musical 'Sollaman and Pungpung Witch' on the 2nd at its headquarters PR center to commemorate its 40th anniversary.

The performance is an original musical themed around energy, co-produced by the agency and the Ulsan Opera Company to foster consensus and change perceptions about energy.

About 120 people attended the event, including KEA Chairman Kim Changseop, employees and their children from energy public institutions including KEA, and citizens of Ulsan.

The story depicts the journey of Sollaman and the penguin Sese to save the Earth and the polar bear Poki from the energy-wasting Pungpung Witch.

The audience pledges to become energy heroes together, gathering energy so that Sollaman obtains the Energy Power Ball and defeats the Pungpung Witch.

The performance team presented a total of nine OST songs themed on energy. The opening song "Power, Power, Solla Power," recorded with the children's choir Joyel Lee, attracted the audience's attention.

Jo Eunha, director of Energy Forest Kindergarten, said, "It is surprising that they created a friendly and fun musical on the somewhat unfamiliar concept of energy for children," adding, "I definitely want to recommend it to children who could not attend and to nearby kindergartens."

Under the motto of creating an energy culture, the agency has been operating the KEA Energy Art Center since last year. Through this, it is conducting cultural projects such as the Enerdream Concert and the Life Energy Sharing Concert.

It also provides gallery space free of charge to local artists, contributing to the development of culture and arts and job creation.

Chairman Kim said, "We plan to hold regular performances of 'Sollaman and Pungpung Witch' at the agency's PR center and expand to nationwide performances in the future," adding, "We will create various content to make Sollaman and Pungpung Witch familiar characters to the public and promote them on SNS."
