Professor Choi Sejin's Team at Wonkwang University Selected for Research Capacity Enhancement Support Project

Conducting 'Bioinspired Self-Healing Nanomaterial Construction Technology Convergence Research'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Geonju Lee] Professor Sejin Choi's team from the College of Creative Engineering at Wonkwang University in Jeonbuk has been selected for the 'Basic Research Laboratory (BRL) Support Project' supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation of Korea.

According to Wonkwang University on the 2nd, the Basic Research Laboratory (BRL) Support Project aims to strengthen the nation's basic research capabilities by supporting small-scale basic research groups focused on specific research topics, and will receive a total research fund of 1.33 billion KRW over the next three years.

Professor Choi's team expressed expectations, stating, "Through the 'Biomimetic Self-Healing Nano Material Construction Technology Convergence Research,' it can be utilized as a technology that can lead the global market through convergence in various fields such as architecture, chemistry, electronics, and mechanical engineering."

Meanwhile, the research team for this Basic Research Laboratory consists of Principal Investigator Professor Sejin Choi, along with Professors Sunghoon Kim (Department of Electronic Convergence Engineering) and Hyemin Go (Department of Bio Nano Chemistry) from Wonkwang University, and Professor Wonseok Jeong (Department of Mechanical Engineering) from Chungnam National University, all of whom possess top-level expertise in their respective fields.
