[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Singer Sunmi made a comeback to the music scene after 10 months with "Borabit Bam" (Purple Night).
On the 29th, Sunmi held an online showcase and introduced "Borabit Bam," saying, "This is not Sunmi hurt by love, but Sunmi in the moment of loving."
She opened up, "As I focused heavily on album work, time passed quickly. It feels like it hasn't been long since I promoted 'Nallari,' but since it's been 10 months, I think many people will have high expectations. So, I'm curious about how people will think of this music."
Sunmi explained, "I wanted to create a song that fits summer. While preparing, I thought about what styles I haven't tried before. Surprisingly, there weren't many bright and refreshing feelings. I wanted to create a bright atmosphere, and I focused on making the music itself evoke a pleasant excitement."
She added, "I thought about how it would feel to auditoryize the sensation of a breeze cooling down the heat of the day at early summer dusk, sitting on a cafe terrace and looking at the sky."
Regarding the fact that her activities coincide with those of other female solo singers, Sunmi said, "It's really amazing to be active together. Female solo artists are gathering strength and seem to be dominating this scene, which is truly remarkable."
She continued, "None of the concepts are uniform, and each artist has a distinct color, which is really impressive. It's a very good environment. It's great that female artists are active."
Meanwhile, "Borabit Bam" was released at 6 p.m. on various online music sites on the same day.
