Emergency at Logistics Center... Confirmed COVID-19 Case at Emart24 Yangji Logistics Center

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart24 announced on the 27th that one employee working at the Yangji Ambient Temperature Logistics Center located in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Emart24 was notified on the 26th that an employee responsible for product sorting tested positive for COVID-19 and immediately closed the ambient temperature center and began disinfection measures. A total of 84 people worked at the ambient temperature center.

Additionally, the adjacent cold storage center was proactively closed as a preventive measure, and employees were instructed to stay at home. Emart24 also informed franchise stores of this situation.

The employee who tested positive reportedly showed no symptoms during the regular fever checks conducted.

The Yangji Ambient Temperature Logistics Center is a consignment logistics center that handles Emart24's logistics, and it is known that there are no Emart24 employees working there.

In particular, due to this closure, product supply to franchise stores scheduled to receive goods through the Yangji Center that day (301 ambient temperature stores, 755 cold storage stores) has been disrupted.

Accordingly, Emart24 plans to supply products to franchise stores through other Emart24 logistics centers (Namyangju, Pyeongtaek, Yongin, Hwaseong) according to a pre-prepared scenario until the Yangji Center's operations are normalized, ensuring minimal delays.

An Emart24 official explained, "We have been conducting activities to prevent COVID-19 and will do our best to prevent further infections through even more strengthened guidelines."
