[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Homeplus is also joining the ‘Korea Together Sale’ to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and stimulate consumption.
Homeplus announced on the 26th that it will offer up to 50% discounts on a total of more than 9,600 products across all categories, including fresh food, daily necessities, electronics, and fashion, at nationwide stores and online malls for two weeks until the 8th of next month.
First, until the 1st of next month, it will offer high-quality domestic fresh food at affordable prices. Representative products include domestic premium pork belly and neck meat at a 30% discount when paid with Samsung Card, Jeju pork front and hind legs priced at 1,090 won and 850 won respectively, and Wando abalone sold by medium and large sizes at 3,390 won and 3,990 won. Other items include five cleaned squids for 9,990 won, Tongyeong sea eel for 2,990 won, two Busan salted mackerels for 5,990 won, and two large frozen Jeju hairtail fish for 11,900 won.
Summer fruits and vegetables in season will be purchased in a total volume of about 1,400 tons and sold at low prices. All watermelon products totaling 1,000 tons will be discounted by 3,000 won when paid with event cards, Seongju honey melons totaling 100 tons will be sold at 9,990 won for eight pieces, and 100 tons each of Gangwon Clear Blue sticky tomatoes and Jeju house mandarins will be offered at 7,990 won and 11,990 won respectively when paid with event cards.
Domestic lettuce and Jeju fresh mini pumpkin of 10 tons each, Cheongyang and cucumber-flavored chili peppers of 15 tons each, and 100,000 zucchini units have been prepared. A ‘Peach and Plum Festival’ will also be held. When paid with event cards, Shinbi peaches are priced at 8,990 won, soft peaches and yellow peaches at 13,990 won and 14,990 won respectively, high-sugar green yellow peaches at 17,990 won, and two packs of plums at 9,980 won.
Through the ‘Get Item Chance One Plus One (1+1), Two Plus One (2+1)’ event, major daily necessities and groceries will also be offered at up to half price. About 10 types of treatments, 20 types of hand washes, 50 types of baby hygiene and nursing products, and 150 types of snacks will be sold as 1+1. Over 230 types of baby food will be sold as 2+1, and for baby food, baby hygiene, and nursing products event items, a 5,000 won gift certificate will be given for purchases over 40,000 won.
Prices in the fashion, accessories, and non-food categories, where small and medium-sized enterprise manufactured products account for more than 90% of sales, have also been significantly reduced. About 7,500 fashion and accessory items will be offered at up to 30% discount. Homeplus fashion PB ‘F2F’ will lower prices and offer a 20% discount when purchasing two swimwear items, summer water play shoes will be 20% off, and Coolplus will offer a 30% discount when purchasing two items. Innerwear and leather brand shop event products will hold gift certificate giveaways when purchasing a certain amount with the applicable card.
Discount events will also be held at cosmetics stores. For 19 representative products such as sunscreen, cleansing foam, soothing gel, and mask packs from six major cosmetics brands including Amorepacific, Innisfree, and The Face Shop, 1+1 giveaways and up to 50% discounts will be offered.
Camping goods will be sold at up to 40% discount, and for all water play toys, a 5,000 won gift certificate will be given for purchases over 50,000 won when paid with Shinhan or Samsung Card*. Kitchen appliances, daily necessities, and automotive and sports goods will offer gift certificates and free gifts for purchases over a certain amount on brand event products.
Additionally, when purchasing top-efficiency appliances such as branded air conditioners and washing machines, 10% of the purchase amount will be refunded, and gift certificates will be given for purchases over a certain amount. For large home appliance event products, separate cashback and 10-month interest-free installment benefits will be provided when paid with event cards.
