[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Miryang City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 23rd that it held the event "Miryang Yoga, Wishing for Peace!" to commemorate the 6th UN International Day of Yoga.
This event was a meaningful occasion to pray for world peace at the Miryang Yoga landmark, created to promote various projects and programs as a representative yoga city of South Korea.
The event was hosted by Miryang City and organized by the International Taoist Yoga Association, bringing together about 100 people including citizens, yoga instructors, and religious figures, and was conducted solidly with diverse performances and participatory programs for one hour and 30 minutes.
Starting with the city recitation "The Resonance of Yoga, The Wish for Peace" and peace meditation, the "Miryang Arirang Yoga" received great applause for its refined and restrained movements, and the "Teachers and Children Performance" captivated participants' hearts with the children's confident appearances.
Park Il-ho, mayor of Miryang City, said, "I hope that COVID-19 will subside quickly through this event praying for world peace, so that we can see more frequent yoga performances."
