- The Key Keyword Driving 2020 Consumer Trends is 'Eco-friendly', Focus on Nature-friendly Commercial Areas
- Introducing Nature-friendly Commercial Facility Dongtan Hosu Park Lacmong at Dongtan New City Landmark Dongtan Hosu Park
Global marketing company Criteo announced a report based on a survey of 15,920 domestic consumers in the fourth quarter of last year, investigating purchase intentions and brand consumption behaviors. Citing the Holiday Season Shoppers report, it selected "eco-friendliness" as the key keyword that will define consumer trends in 2020. This reflects the growing number of people who want to spend their increased leisure time, due to the introduction of the 52-hour workweek, in a comfortable and valuable environment.
In addition, alongside eco-friendly consumption, "value consumption" was highlighted as a notable consumer behavior. About 4 out of 10 consumers responded that they would purchase brands or products that align with their values and beliefs regardless of price. This aligns with the work-life balance culture that emphasizes personal leisure and life. A culture that values nature-friendly principles and life’s worth is merging.
As a result, among commercial districts, nature-friendly commercial areas where people can enjoy leisure in pleasant natural environments such as parks or lakeside parks are gaining attention. The main focus is ‘Dongtan Hosu Park Lacmong,’ an experiential family entertainment mall scheduled to open near Dongtan Hosu Park.
This commercial facility boasts excellent natural infrastructure with the lakeside park located right in front. It will also serve as a regional landmark, hosting various cultural events and festivals, offering diverse opportunities for rest, culture, and leisure.
‘Dongtan Hosu Park Lacmong’ is designed with visitor convenience in mind. Visitors can freely move between Lacmong and the lakeside park via an underground passage connected through basement level 1. The arena-style mall design features escalators and bridges that connect all floors, providing a specialized circulation system that allows visitors to easily navigate every level. Additionally, specialty stores with large terraces offer waterfront views and a sense of openness.
Furthermore, the indoor animal theme park ‘Jureong Jureong’ will open its fifth and largest branch in Korea here. The globally acclaimed Discovery company will introduce for the first time in Korea the nature-themed indoor theme park ‘Discovery Nature Play,’ composed of various experiential spaces and content. Also planned are workshops, a cultural center, and a 148-seat performance hall for local residents.
Located in Block 8 of the cultural complex land in Dongtan 2 New Town, ‘Dongtan Hosu Park Lacmong’ spans from basement level 3 to the 5th floor above ground, with a total floor area of 60,893 square meters. It is a landmark shopping mall that has already been verified for its public value and investment worthiness, having won first place in the comprehensive evaluation of the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation’s public contest for product concept and design.
A sales representative said, “With Dongtan Hosu Park right in front, visitors can enjoy shopping, leisure, and culture in a pleasant environment. We ask for much interest in Dongtan Hosu Park Lacmong, a complex cultural commercial facility that will provide diverse cultural content.”
Meanwhile, as a landmark complex mall representing Dongtan Hosu Park, Dongtan Hosu Park Lacmong is currently conducting a first-come, first-served contract promotion limited to some units, attracting ongoing interest and inquiries from investors.
Also, at the model house of Dongtan Hosu Park Lacmong, various events are being held to celebrate the confirmed opening of Korea’s first indoor theme park ‘Discovery Nature Play.’ Visitors to the model house receive small gifts through a scratch lottery event, and at the prize recommendation event on the 27th, only customers who enter will be eligible to win various prizes such as refrigerators and clothes dryers.
The model house is located at 182 Dongtan-daero, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.
