Ijen Academy Computer Institute, Enhance Certification and Accounting Practical Skills with Nationally Funded Training for Management Experts in Computerized Tax Accounting, ERP Information Management, and Financial Management Certification

Many people prepare for certifications such as Computerized Tax Accounting, ERP Information Manager, and Financial Management to enhance their employability and work competitiveness. While certifications related to computerized tax accounting are indeed important qualifications for accounting clerks and management and organizational administration, practical accounting skills are equally crucial upon obtaining the certification. Job seekers starting their first job as accounting clerks or accounting assistants need practical accounting experience, so whether they hold a computerized tax accounting certification, especially at a higher level, significantly boosts their employment competitiveness.

For current employees, obtaining a tax accounting certification along with experience in closing tasks is important for job changes, promotions, and career management. Therefore, it is essential to set step-by-step goals to grow as a management expert by improving both certification and practical accounting skills. Focusing solely on obtaining an accounting certification may lead to a lack of practical accounting knowledge. Since tax accounting can affect all company taxes with just one incorrect number, numerical calculations and accounting for transactions must be precise.

So, how should one study for Computerized Tax Accounting, ERP Information Manager, and Financial Management certifications?

Many people are curious about study methods because the accounting required for certification and actual workplace tasks differ. This is mainly due to the revised tax laws applied every January. As tax laws change, accounting for transactions must be processed according to the updated laws, so accounting personnel must continuously learn tax laws through ongoing education. The same applies to Computerized Tax Accounting, ERP Information Manager, and Financial Management certifications.

Since certifications assess the capability to perform the relevant tasks, focusing solely on passing the exam can result in insufficient practical knowledge. Therefore, it is recommended to first acquire practical study skills for tax accounting certifications. Basic accounting theory requires memorization, but all practical transactions should start with case studies. Reducing memorization and focusing on understanding during lessons enriches practical processing know-how. Additionally, since companies we aim to work for vary across industries such as manufacturing, distribution, education, and services, studying certifications while understanding industry-specific accounting treatments is highly advantageous for tax accounting knowledge and certification acquisition.

Next, review the accounting concepts learned in each class. The difficulty of the Computerized Tax Accounting certification varies by level, but financial accounting, cost management accounting, tax accounting, VAT, year-end tax settlement and income tax, and corporate tax are organically connected, with tax accounting focusing on theory and journal entries. If you have a solid grasp of basic accounting concepts and journal entry standards, you can improve skills such as avoiding simple calculation errors and using accounting software through repeated practice.

Finally, to increase the pass rate, repeatedly solve recent exam questions from the past 3 to 5 years right before the test. Rather than solving a large volume of problems, it is more efficient to accurately understand and solve accounting processes and calculations.

When choosing an accounting certification, it is recommended to start with one that suits your level rather than aiming too high. For accounting beginners, start with the most basic Computerized Accounting Level 2 (FAT Level 2) to learn accounting principles. Basic accounting based on fundamental concepts and practical bookkeeping knowledge is essential. Afterward, progress to higher certifications in order: Computerized Accounting Level 1 (FAT Level 1), Computerized Tax Level 2 (TAT Level 2), and Computerized Tax Level 1 (TAT Level 1).

The Computerized Tax Accounting certification is administered by the Korea Association of Certified Public Tax Accountants (KACPTA) and uses the KcLep accounting program. The AT certification exam is administered by the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA) and uses the Duzon Smart A iPLUS accounting program. Since the accounting theory, certification requirements, and practical accounting software are similar, it is possible to obtain both certifications simultaneously. If you want to expand your work to include general affairs, logistics, distribution, and human resources along with accounting, you can also choose to study the ERP Information Manager certification (Korea Productivity Center, covering HR, accounting, logistics, and distribution). For those who want to develop from accounting practitioners to management professionals, the Financial Management certification (Samil Accounting Corporation), which is theory-focused, is also recommended. It provides a perspective to oversee capital strength based on corporate cash flow and management performance analysis, which is fundamental for future business initiatives.
