"Firm Response to North Korea Enables Normal Inter-Korean Dialogue"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the Future United Party, criticized some ruling party figures who have been clashing with former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon, saying, "Stop raising your voice against Jin, who criticized the president, and firmly protest against North Korea's behavior."
On the 15th, Ha wrote on Facebook, "I will say a word on behalf of the pro-Moon faction who cannot utter a word against North Korea," and added, "North Korea should stop mocking and insulting President Moon Jae-in and apologize."
He continued, "Even though our government considers improving inter-Korean relations important, it must remind North Korea that there are lines that must not be crossed," emphasizing, "We must respond firmly to North Korea's behavior, which is beyond the scope of a normal state's conduct, so that inter-Korean relations can continue normal dialogue."
On the same day, Shin Dong-geun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, engaged in a verbal exchange with former professor Jin.
Shin criticized Jin on Facebook, saying, "I never thought I would see the tainted anti-communist conservatism in Jin Joong-kwon," and asked, "Do you want to joke around in this serious security crisis? Is this humor or farce?"
Earlier, on the 10th, Jin attended a seminar held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building and claimed, "President Moon is just a ceremonial president who reads speeches written by others," and since then, the two have been escalating their disputes daily.
Regarding Jin's remarks, Shin pointed out on the 12th, "What is the root of Jin's rudeness?" and said, "Criticism of the president, who represents the people, must have dignity and courtesy." Jin rebutted, saying, "I am watching with interest how Representative Shin, who corrected my rudeness, will correct North Korea, which has insulted the absolute dignity of the Republic of Korea with insults that are hard to hear."
