It has been revealed that no additional COVID-19 cases occurred at the Hackers headquarters, where a confirmed case was reported on the 10th.
As a result of conducting COVID-19 tests on a total of 215 people, including 10 close contacts classified as close contacts of the confirmed (42nd confirmed case in Anyang City) Hackers programmer employee, all tested negative. Although the programmer employee who tested positive did not include the Hackers Language Institute Gangnam Station Campus in their movement path, the campus was closed for one day on the 10th for preventive purposes and underwent disinfection work, and resumed normal operations from the 11th.
According to the epidemiological investigation by the quarantine authorities, all 215 people, including 10 colleagues classified as close contacts and those who shared the same office or had possible contact, underwent COVID-19 testing, and all were confirmed negative, resulting in zero additional confirmed cases.
According to Hackers, the reason no additional confirmed cases occurred was due to Hackers' thorough quarantine and prevention policies. Since January 2020, when the first COVID-19 cases began to appear, all employees at Hackers have been required to wear masks during working hours, with designated personnel in each office strictly checking and recording compliance. In addition, regular disinfection was conducted by professional companies, and door handles were disinfected every hour. Furthermore, all employees' temperatures were measured every morning to immediately detect any abnormalities and take necessary actions.
Hackers applied these thorough quarantine and prevention policies to their language institutes as well. Hackers Language Institute installed thermal cameras at the entrance to detect abnormal temperatures, and checked the temperature of all visitors, including students and instructors, allowing entry only after hand sanitization if no abnormalities were found. Wearing masks was mandatory. Entry was denied without a mask, and frequent checks were conducted during class and movement; anyone lowering their mask even slightly was immediately asked to leave. As a result, no confirmed cases occurred among Hackers Language Institute students.
With these thorough prevention policies implemented by Hackers resulting in zero additional confirmed cases, it has been praised as an excellent model for the attitude that academies and workplaces should adopt in the COVID-19 era. A representative of Hackers Education Group stated that they will continue to lead the fight against COVID-19 through firm and systematic prevention and quarantine measures.
