[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] GS Shop announced on the 15th that it will sell a 'Per-Mile Car Insurance' linked to driving distance.
Per-Mile Car Insurance calculates the premium based on the subscriber's driving distance, allowing them to pay monthly premiums only for the distance they have driven. Office workers who commute by public transportation, elderly people who drive infrequently, and those who only drive near their homes can save up to about 30% compared to traditional insurance premiums.
In addition to the basic coverage provided, by subscribing to GS Shop exclusive special contracts, customers can also receive coverage for legal costs such as criminal settlement fees, attorney fees, fines, and plastic surgery support funds, which previously required separate driver insurance.
Per-Mile Car Insurance is a product created by GS Shop in collaboration with Carrot General Insurance. The Carrot plug provided upon subscription automatically measures the driving distance. In case of an accident, simply pressing the button on the plug makes it easy to report the accident.
This product’s premium calculation and subscription are only available through the GS Shop mobile app. You can find this product by searching for 'Car Insurance' in the GS Shop app or by scanning the QR code below. Among customers who calculate premiums, 1,000 people will be selected by lottery to receive a 10,000 KRW credit.
Byun Sun-young, MD of GS Shop Service Team, said, “This will be a great opportunity for customers who usually drive less to save on insurance premiums,” and added, “GS Shop is continuously striving to provide personalized services tailored to each customer.”
