Chosun Institute of Science and Technology (President Cho Soon-gye) announced on the 15th that on the 12th, it signed a multilateral business agreement for the development of the Gwangju-type franchise industry and job creation, attended by officials from eight local organizations including the Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Agency.
The organizations that signed the multilateral business agreement with Chosun Institute of Science and Technology on that day include the Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Agency, Gwangju Bank, Korea Franchise Industry Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch, Korea Food Service Industry Association Gwangju Metropolitan City Branch, Korea Industry-Academic Cooperation Research Institute, Korea Food Service Industry Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Metropolitan Branch, Korea Small Business Consulting Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch, and IBN Ildeung Broadcasting.
The agreement includes ▲ sharing information and mutual cooperation to revitalize the Gwangju-type franchise industry ▲ cooperation in franchise activation support projects and establishment of support systems ▲ development and cooperation of educational programs for training franchise experts ▲ consulting and mutual support for small business franchise commercialization ▲ research and policy promotion for revitalizing the Gwangju-type franchise industry.
Chosun Institute of Science and Technology has the only franchise specialized department in the Honam region, the Department of Franchise Startup Management (Department Head Song Jihyun), and was recently selected for three consecutive years as an educational institution for the CEO course of the 2020 Promising Franchise Development Support Project hosted by the Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Agency, and for two consecutive years as an educational institution for the supervisor training course of the 2020 Promising Franchise Development Support Project.
To promote the development of the Gwangju-type franchise industry, Chosun Institute of Science and Technology started the first CEO course in 2018, aiming to strengthen the professional knowledge and practical capabilities necessary for franchise commercialization of excellent small business owners located in Gwangju Metropolitan City. Last year, it produced the second CEO course class and the first supervisor training course class.
The Department of Franchise Startup Management at Chosun Institute of Science and Technology, which operates a representative local franchise professional training course, contributed to creating more than 350 jobs with 91 directly operated franchise store openings in 2018, and more than 430 jobs with 106 directly operated franchise store openings in 2019.
President Cho Soon-gye said, “Through this multilateral business agreement, we will strive harder not only to revitalize our local franchise industry but also to prevent the outflow of local talent and improve the management capabilities of local small business owners. I hope that training franchise professionals will serve as a foundation for revitalizing our local economy.”
