[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] At around 10:43 AM on the 11th, a train collision occurred near Sanggye Station on Seoul Subway Line 4 in Nowon-gu, Seoul, causing train operations on the northbound section from Nowon Station to Danggogae Station to be suspended.
Seoul Metro immediately formed an on-site response team after the accident and is currently carrying out recovery work.
The train involved in the accident was a transfer train that had completed its service at Danggogae Station and was entering the Changdong Depot. The company stated that there were no casualties or people transported due to injury.
Currently, Line 4 operations are suspended between Nowon and Danggogae stations, while the remaining section (Oido to Nowon) is operating with trains turning back at Nowon Station, though some delays are expected.
A company official said, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to subway users," and urged, "Customers using the suspended section are advised to use alternative transportation."
