[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Hana Financial Group announced on the 7th that it has launched the Digital Transformation (DT) University to cultivate convergence talents equipped with financial knowledge and digital technology.

The newly launched DT University is an integrated education platform that provides customized practical digital training through online and offline courses to strengthen digital capabilities across the entire group for digital transformation.

Hana Financial defines digital talents in three fields: digital business experts, digital IT experts, and innovative technology experts, aiming for all employees to become specialized talents in at least one of these fields.

The training program operates in three stages. In the first introductory stage, common competencies such as cultivating a digital mindset and the latest trends are built. The second advanced stage covers programming, data analysis, big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and the third expert stage involves forming teams to apply new technologies and develop new services, conducting hackathons over extended periods to generate ideas and produce results, providing systematic programs at each stage.

In addition to offline courses, the group plans to proactively prepare for the expansion of non-face-to-face (untact) education by expanding online courses and diversifying content.

To respond to the rapidly changing environment such as the 4th Industrial Revolution, Hana Financial held a 'Digital Vision Declaration Ceremony' in October 2018, announcing the group's future direction as a customer-centered data-based information company.

Since then, the group has shared visions and roadmaps suggesting changes in awareness and organizational culture for all members, continuously striving to strengthen employee capabilities through initiatives such as coding education for all employees. From January this year, the group's digital division and its IT specialized affiliate Hana Financial TI have collaborated to promote DT University.

Going forward, the group plans to concentrate all its capabilities to become a 'leading digital financial group and a customer-centered data-based information company.'

At the launch ceremony held on the 5th at Incheon Cheongna Hana Global Campus, Kim Jung-tae, Chairman of Hana Financial, stated, “Through the specialized customized education of DT University, we will raise the digital capabilities of group employees to a higher standard and continuously invest so that enhanced capabilities can provide customers with new user experiences.”
