[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Hee-eun Park] The Ministry of Justice has suspended a senior prosecutor of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office on charges of sexually harassing a woman walking on the street while intoxicated.

On the 6th, the Ministry of Justice announced that it had suspended Senior Prosecutor A's duties for two months following the Prosecutor General's request for suspension of duty execution (Article 8 of the Prosecutor Disciplinary Act).

It added, "We will promptly investigate related misconduct and take strict measures."

Earlier, on the 1st, Prosecutor A was accused of touching a woman's shoulder and making physical contact near Yangjeong Station on Busan Metro Line 1 while she was walking. Even after the woman pushed his hand away, A followed her for about 1 km.

It was also confirmed that he followed her inside a fast-food restaurant when she entered.

He was arrested on the spot by police who responded to the woman's report.

The police plan to investigate A on charges of forcible sexual harassment.
