[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jeonnam Muan Fire Station (Chief Park Won-guk) announced on the 5th that it visited two onion farms in Illo-eup, Muan-gun, which are struggling due to labor shortages during the farming season, to help with farm work.
This farm work assistance involved all employees, including Chief Park Won-guk, and plans to actively support onion harvesting by visiting six farms every Friday for the next three weeks.
In particular, considering the special circumstances of COVID-19, all participants underwent pre-shift temperature checks, and social distancing measures such as wearing masks were observed during the work.
The farmers who received help expressed their repeated gratitude to the firefighters for supporting their work in the hot weather.
Park Won-guk, Chief of Muan Fire Station, said, "I hope this assistance will be of some help to farms struggling with labor shortages," and added, "We will continue to support the residents."
