Jeon Yongsu, Former Jeonnam Provincial Council Member, Leads Proposal for 'Jeollanam-do Forest Welfare Service Support Ordinance' Im Yong-su, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Health, Welfare, and Environment Committee of the Jeollanam-do Provincial Council announced on the 4th that it reviewed and approved the "Jeollanam-do Forest Welfare Service Support Ordinance," which was proposed by Representative Im Yong-su on the 3rd, and submitted it to the plenary session.

With the enactment of this ordinance, a systematic basis for supporting forest welfare services has been established, enabling support for projects such as the expansion and improvement of forest welfare facilities and assistance for those marginalized from forest welfare.

In particular, as forests are gaining attention as places for rest, healing, and education for modern people, and the government is providing "life-cycle tailored forest welfare services," interest in forest welfare has recently increased, making the timing of this ordinance appropriate.

Representative Im Yong-su stated, "The forest area of Jeollanam-do is 690,000 hectares, accounting for 56% of the total area of the province. Jeollanam-do should lead forest culture by utilizing these abundant forest resources," and added, "We will actively strive to expand forest recreational facilities and guarantee forest welfare enjoyment rights for low-income groups to meet the diverse forest welfare service needs of the residents."
