Gwangjin-gu Promotes Nighttime COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines Using Logo Light

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has installed logo lights in the area of Kondae Mat-ui Street, where entertainment facilities are densely located, in response to the spread of secondary infections originating from Itaewon clubs, to promote compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines.

Logo lights are lighting devices that project images and phrases onto the ground, serving as promotional media operating at night. The district has installed a total of six logo lights in the area of Kondae Mat-ui Street where entertainment facilities are concentrated, operating them daily from sunset until sunrise the next day.

When the COVID-19 situation eases, the district plans to use the logo lights to provide residents with useful daily life information.

District Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “As secondary infections originating from Itaewon clubs have spread nationwide, the district quickly established a ‘Special Task Force for Entertainment Facilities’ and conducted a ‘Social Distancing Campaign in Daily Life,’ followed by installing logo lights to promote prevention guidelines.”
