Profits from Energy Savings Donated to Energy-Disadvantaged Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 4th that it will conduct the 'KB Green Wave Campaign with Customers.'
This campaign involves various eco-friendly activities such as reducing paper passbooks, decreasing electricity usage, and minimizing disposable products.
First, the 'No Paper Passbook Issuance Event' will be held from the 5th until the end of June. For new deposit and withdrawal accounts, 10,000 customers who participate in the 'No Demand Deposit Passbook Issuance Event' and 3,500 customers who participate in the 'No Use of Existing Paper Passbook Event' via ARS will be given prizes on a first-come, first-served basis.
Additionally, the 'KB Seoljeonsaeng (Wise Energy Saving Life)' program will be conducted. By maintaining appropriate indoor temperatures and turning off unnecessary lights to save energy, the bank plans to participate in the 'Demand Response (DR) Market' to sell saved electricity. The profits earned from the saved electricity will be donated to energy-vulnerable groups suffering from heatwaves and cold spells.
Lastly, the campaign will practice 'Reducing Disposable and Consumable Products.' Gifts provided to customers at branches will use eco-friendly packaging and simplified packaging. Headquarters departments will promote work efficiency and smart work by reducing paper usage through electronic reporting on tablet PCs.
President Heo In said, "KB Kookmin Bank will take the lead in environmental protection so that our small actions can collectively bring about change in the world."
