The Most Desired Travel Destination After the End of COVID-19 Is 'Southeast Asia'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Amid the difficulty of traveling abroad due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), Southeast Asia has emerged as the most desired travel destination after the end of the COVID-19 crisis.

Tmon announced on the 4th that, in a survey conducted over the past week with 946 customers ahead of the summer vacation period, more than half of the respondents (60.5%) chose nearby vacation spots such as Southeast Asia as the place they most want to visit after the COVID-19 situation.

Following that, Oceania including Australia accounted for 14.9%, Europe 10.7%, and the United States and Canada 6.7% respectively.

More than half of the respondents, 50.9%, answered that they have no plans for summer vacation this year. The main reason for not planning a vacation was "because there is no vaccine, I don't know where I might get infected" (49.5%), and 34.3% responded that South Korea is the safest place.
