[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] A woman in her 50s selected as a nationwide business surveyor by the National Statistical Office in Daegu has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).


According to Daegu City on the 3rd, during the full inspection of 517 managers and surveyors ahead of the local business survey, one 59-year-old woman residing in Suseong-gu, Daegu, was confirmed positive. This increased the number of confirmed cases in the Daegu area to 6,885.


The woman did not show any COVID-19 symptoms. All the other 516 people tested negative. Health authorities are conducting epidemiological investigations on her family and close contacts to determine the infection route.


As of midnight on the same day, the number of recovered patients in Daegu increased to 6,709 as nine people were discharged from hospitals the previous day, resulting in a recovery rate of 96.3% (nationally 90.3%). The number of deaths in Daegu rose to 184 after a 78-year-old man passed away the previous day.
