60-Year-Old Wife Arrested for Severing Body Part While Husband Slept

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A wife who cut off her husband's genitals and wrist while he was asleep after giving him sleeping pills was arrested by the police.

The Dobong Police Station in Seoul announced on the 2nd that they arrested A (69) on charges of special injury.

According to the police, A is accused of cutting off her husband B's (70) genitals and right wrist at their home in Dobong-gu, Seoul, at around 9:10 PM the previous day.

After the crime, A voluntarily reported to 112, and was arrested by the responding police officers.

It was investigated that A committed the crime using a weapon from the kitchen after giving her husband five sleeping pills. B underwent suturing surgery and was transferred to the intensive care unit. It is reported that his life is not in danger.

The police are investigating the exact motive and circumstances of the crime with A.
