[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] Singer Yubin caught attention by mentioning the Wonder Girls reunion.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, Yubin and Hyerim, former members of the girl group Wonder Girls, appeared as guests on SBS PowerFM's 'Choi Hwajung's Power Time.'
That day, Yubin revealed that she left JYP Entertainment, where she had been for about 13 years, and established her own agency.
Yubin explained the reason for founding the agency, saying, "At first, I had no intention of starting a company. When I thought about moving to another company, I thought the environment would be similar. I thought, 'Why not just go for it?' I had a dream since I was young, but I didn't expect to do it this soon."
She continued about recruiting Hyerim, "I was confident that I knew Hyerim best. She could have received better care at another company, but I wanted to help her shine, so I made the offer."
Yubin also mentioned advice she received from JYP Entertainment CEO Park Jin-young. She said, "He really emphasized, 'Reduce fixed costs at all costs.' Fixed costs are the most important thing for a startup company. Whether it's rent or anything I can do myself, I do it and save as much as possible."
In particular, Yubin recalled the Wonder Girls and expressed her willingness to reunite. She said, "I think we can reunite someday. Seeing other senior groups reunite gives me hope. It would really be fun."
When Hyerim said, "We need to practice choreography," Yubin replied, "I appeared on a program recently and did 'Random Play Dance,' but I forgot everything, so I thought I need to practice. Hyerim and I only remember our parts and not the other members' parts," making everyone laugh.
