[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] On the 1st, Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that County Governor Lee Dong-jin emphasized the active promotion of various fields for revitalizing the local economy after COVID-19.
On the 1st, ahead of the major business plan briefing session scheduled for June, he urged all public officials through a video to focus on post-COVID local economic revitalization, investment attraction and development projects, and Jindo-type New Deal policies.
Governor Lee Dong-jin encouraged the staff who worked hard to maintain Jindo as a COVID-19 clean area through timely responses such as operating a fever check station at Jindo Bridge.
He also ordered, "Since many tourists are visiting due to the clean Jindo image, please do your best to establish thorough follow-up measures so that it can leap forward as a representative tourist city of the southwestern sea."
He emphasized, "Jindo-gun provided temporary living expenses of about 1.5 billion won to 2,658 low-income households and emergency living expenses of 3.6 billion won to about 11,000 households in the area. In particular, we are concentrating all our capabilities to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to COVID-19, by investing 20.7 billion won, including about 7 billion won of county funds, in nine support projects."
He stressed, "We will actively promote the second phase of the village beautification project with proactive and preemptive financial management, and promptly carry out projects such as bright street creation, flower gardens, small parks, and tree-lined street creation to improve residents' living environment and revitalize the local economy."
Governor Lee ordered, "We will establish a comprehensive COVID-19 response plan for Jindo-gun and respond proactively so that county government pending projects can be implemented as soon as possible in line with the Korean New Deal policy promoted by the government through the formation and operation of a TF team."
He continued, "It is necessary to stimulate the local economy by actively utilizing local companies to promote major development projects and intensively executing labor costs, material costs, and rents that can have an economic ripple effect within a short period during the first half of the year," urging public officials.
Governor Lee Dong-jin said, "As COVID-19 has shifted to a lull, only thorough preparation in each field can lead the post-COVID era. We will concentrate all administrative power so that Jindo-gun can take a step forward."
