[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the United Future Party, criticized the various allegations surrounding Yoon Mi-hyang, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the 1st, saying, “What I don’t understand is the attitude of the Democratic Party and the Blue House. Even though they clearly know it will harm the party, the leadership is rushing to defend and protect Yoon from the start,” and added, “I am curious about their true intentions. Have they shared secrets that must not be revealed to the outside?”

At the Comfort Women Victims Truth-Finding Task Force meeting held at the National Assembly that afternoon, Floor Leader Joo said, “I wonder if there is a background of joining forces to run an election using a pro-Japanese/anti-Japanese frame through Yoon and the comfort women issue, or if there are circumstances that cannot be spoken of,” expressing his thoughts.

He also pointed out, “It is strange that the Blue House remains silent despite the public outcry. Yoon was nominated as a proportional representative by the Democratic Party, but the party remains silent,” and said, “It seems there is no other way than to expel Yoon from the National Assembly through the People Power Party. It looks like the Blue House and the Democratic Party want to fight against the people.”

Floor Leader Joo stated, “When the National Assembly convenes, we will push for a parliamentary investigation to reveal the truth and make efforts to expel her from the Assembly,” and added, “The public can no longer tolerate the shameless behavior of those who claim to support Grandma Lee Yong-soo but only pursue their own interests.”

He said, “Whether Yoon’s words are lies or not is revealed without even needing a lie detector test, from the sweat soaking her clothes,” and criticized, “Although it was said to be victim-centered, in reality it was Yoon Mi-hyang-centered. Now that Grandma Lee Yong-soo has criticized her, they are rushing to portray her as a strange person, committing secondary harm.”
