Lotte Department Store Hosts '2020 Lotte Linen Fair'

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Department Store is launching the ‘2020 Lotte Linen Fair’ for 14 days from the 5th to the 18th of June, when the heat begins in earnest, at 13 major stores including the Main Store, Jamsil Store, and Gangnam Store, offering high-quality linen products at reasonable prices.

‘Linen’ is a fabric made from the flax plant, known for not sticking to the skin and its breathability, making it comfortable to wear in the sweaty summer months. It is a popular material for jackets, shirts, and dresses. Additionally, the fabric is lightweight and easy to wear, allowing versatile styling for both office and daily life, and it helps to express a natural silhouette.

Linen blend fabrics that compensate for linen’s characteristic wrinkling are also popular. Linen cotton maximizes the advantages of linen along with the softness and breathability of cotton, while linen rayon blends offer a subtle sheen, calm colors, and a natural fabric feel that combine to create a sophisticated atmosphere.

At this ‘Linen Fair,’ Lotte Department Store’s representative private brands (PB) such as ‘UNIT’ and ‘PARSONS’ will present over 80 styles and more than 200 products, planned over six months, at prices discounted up to 50%.

Specifically, ‘UNIT’ has prepared about 50 products including knits, shirts, cardigans, and dresses at ‘up to half price.’ ‘PARSONS’ will showcase around 50 products priced between 10,000 and 70,000 KRW.

This event is the second material-themed event following last September’s ‘Lotte Cashmere Fair.’ To present an event themed on ‘linen,’ close consultations with partner companies were conducted over six months, and approximately 1 billion KRW worth of stock was secured through off-season pre-production.

Choi Won-seok, Chief Buyer of Lotte Department Store’s PB Operations Team, said, “Linen is the oldest natural fabric used for clothing and is favored in summer for its unique coolness, but it has been difficult to manage due to wrinkling issues. We have worked for the past six months to incorporate knitting, add various colors, and offer it at reasonable prices so that customers can enjoy linen more comfortably.”
