[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Woori Bank announced on the 31st that it will implement a dress code autonomy policy for all domestic employees starting next month on the 1st to foster a creative and flexible corporate culture based on the principles of autonomy and responsibility.

Woori Bank plans to allow employees to freely wear the attire they prefer to maximize individuality and autonomy, while also recommending clothing suitable for customer service and neat attire that instills trust in customers, considering the nature of the banking industry.

This measure was promoted as part of Woori Bank President Kwon Kwang-seok's 'Zero Base Innovation,' which calls for a comprehensive review and improvement of all systems and policies. In his inauguration speech last March, President Kwon emphasized creative and fundamental innovation by presenting three major management policies for this year: ▲ Innovation of sales culture ▲ Organizational stability ▲ Restoration of customer trust.

In an email sent to all employees on the 25th, President Kwon stated, "To keep pace with the rapidly changing era characterized by post-COVID untact and digitalization, as well as generational changes, and to revitalize the bank, we have decided to liberalize the dress code," adding, "I hope this will not merely mean freedom in clothing but will lead to the fruition of transforming into an innovative bank that does not fear change."

A Woori Bank official explained, "In particular, the dress code autonomy is significant in that it eliminated uniforms for female clerks, thereby forming a horizontal and flexible organizational culture," and added, "We expect that establishing an autonomous and creative corporate culture will improve work efficiency."
