[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] As the Nth wave of COVID-19 infections originating from logistics centers continues to spread, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) has decided to implement strengthened quarantine measures beyond the current ones.
Seongbuk-gu has decided to enforce the following enhanced quarantine measures for residents and facilities in the area from 6 PM on the 29th until midnight on June 14th, a total of 17 days, and has actively requested cooperation and participation from residents.
First, the district recommends refraining from operating entertainment bars, karaoke rooms, academies, PC rooms, and similar facilities in the area. If operation is unavoidable, these facilities will be required to comply with quarantine rules.
Regular on-site inspections will be conducted for these facilities. Administrative actions such as reporting and suspension of gatherings will be taken if quarantine rules are violated during operation.
Events organized by the district will also be canceled or postponed, and the operation of public facilities used by unspecified large numbers of people will be suspended.
At the same time, flexible work arrangements such as telecommuting and staggered working hours will be actively utilized to minimize close contact among many people.
Residents are advised to refrain from unnecessary outings, gatherings, and events, and to return home promptly after work. They are requested to avoid going out except for essential reasons such as purchasing daily necessities or visiting medical institutions.
Each workplace in the area is asked to appoint a quarantine manager and thoroughly implement quarantine management such as checking for symptomatic individuals, wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing.
Religious facilities are urged to comply with quarantine rules and to refrain from contact and face-to-face gatherings.
Seongbuk-gu Mayor Lee Seung-ro emphasized, “The next two weeks will be an opportunity for medical staff and all citizens to unite and demonstrate the true strength of K-quarantine,” adding, “I ask for the efforts and dedication of adults so that our children can continue their school life safely and healthily.”
