Ministry of SMEs and Startups Recruits National Jury for 'Respected Entrepreneurs'

Ministry of SMEs and Startups Recruits National Jury for 'Respected Entrepreneurs'

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 31st that it will recruit a national jury panel to participate in the selection of the ‘Respected Entrepreneurs,’ a role model for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) growing together with their employees, from the 1st to the 14th of next month.

The ‘Respected Entrepreneurs’ refers to exemplary SME business owners who contribute to the national economy by practicing ‘people-centered business management,’ where companies and employees grow together through performance sharing, talent development, and creating excellent business results and good jobs. Since 2016, a total of 36 individuals have been selected.

This year, a total of 176 entrepreneurs applied for the ‘Respected Entrepreneurs’ award, and through a rigorous evaluation process including document review, on-site assessment, and presentation evaluation, approximately 15 finalists will be selected.

The national jury panel will evaluate the candidate entrepreneurs together with experts, focusing on their efforts in people-centered business management and excellence in talent development.

Until last year, the final selection was made through expert evaluations in related fields, but this year, the national jury panel is being introduced for the first time. It is expected to contribute to discovering entrepreneurs who resonate more deeply with the public by allowing direct participation from citizens.

The national jury panel will consist of individuals who have worked in SMEs for more than three years, SME job seekers, and startup company representatives with less than seven years of experience. Any citizen meeting these criteria can participate.

Considering the application status, about 13 jury members will be selected.

To apply, submit the participation application form and other documents to the Small and Medium Business Corporation.
