Jang Young-su, Jangsu County Governor, Receives 'A Grade' for Manifesto Pledge Fulfillment Jang Young-su, Jangsu County Governor

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Go Dallyoung] Jangsu County announced on the 29th that County Governor Jang Youngsoo received an excellent grade (A grade) in the ‘2020 National Evaluation of Pledge Fulfillment by 226 Basic Local Government Heads’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.

The Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters conducted evaluations from January to April on five areas: completion of 2019 pledge fulfillment by basic local government heads, achievement of pledge goals, resident communication, web communication, and pledge consistency.

As of the end of last year, Governor Jang Youngsoo of the 7th elected term achieved a 56.2% pledge fulfillment rate across 98 projects in seven areas: agriculture, forestry, livestock, and income; medical, welfare, education, sports, and culture; culture; administration; tourism, forestry, and environment; economy; and regional development.

Last year, projects such as the establishment of a joint workplace for senior citizen jobs, the medical equipment advancement project at Jangsu Health Medical Center, modernization of facilities including remodeling of Jangsu Market, and installation of an agricultural machinery rental office in Gaebuk-myeon were completed. Currently, pledge projects such as operating the job center, fostering 15 competitive agricultural and livestock products of Jangsu County, constructing the Jangsu Complex Cultural Center, expanding honors for veterans, and revitalizing tourism at Jangsu Nuri Park are being steadily promoted.

Since 2018, the county has introduced a citizen jury meeting for evaluating the governor’s pledge fulfillment, regularly receiving evaluations on pledge progress and disclosing pledge information on the county office website, leading in resident communication.

Previously, Governor Jang Youngsoo earned a B grade in the ‘2019 National Evaluation of Pledge Fulfillment by 226 Basic Local Government Heads’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, and this year, by receiving the excellent A grade, he has steadily fulfilled pledges and built trusted administration.

Governor Jang Youngsoo said, “Since pledges are promises to the residents, they are being pursued as the highest priority task of county administration,” and added, “I will do my best to achieve 100% pledge fulfillment in the remaining period.”
