[Asia Economy reporters Kang Nahum and Jeon Jinyoung] Yoon Mee-hyang, the proportional representative elected member of the Democratic Party of Korea, denied on the 29th the allegations that she had prior knowledge of the 2015 Korea-Japan agreement.

At a press conference held at the National Assembly that day, Yoon said, "There have been claims that I knew the contents of the 2015 Korea-Japan agreement in advance but did not inform the grandmothers, including Halmoni Lee Yong-soo," adding, "This is clearly not true."

She explained, "This fact was also confirmed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official statement," and added, "On the 12th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson briefed that the report reviewing the Korea-Japan agreement on the issue of Japanese military comfort women victims did not specifically inform the victims and did not collect their opinions."
