[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] On the afternoon of the 28th, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-koo Foundation signed a business agreement at Sejong Center to promote cultural and artistic projects.


Through this agreement, both organizations will jointly promote cultural and artistic cooperation projects to expand opportunities for citizens to enjoy culture. The two institutions co-hosted the musical play "Kim Deok-su Jeon," which depicts the life story of Master Kim Deok-su, the founder of Samulnori. Going forward, the two organizations plan to collaborate on nurturing cultural and artistic talents and jointly host various contents to revitalize culture and arts. They also plan to actively promote exchange projects utilizing the spaces at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.


Kim Sung-gyu, President of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, stated, "We are grateful to continue the Master Series with Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-koo Foundation, which leads private cultural foundations in Korea, following last year. Through this business agreement, we will combine the diverse capabilities of both organizations to continuously cooperate on cultural and artistic projects that bring greater happiness to artists and citizens."


Kwon Oh-gyu, Director of Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-koo Foundation, said, "We are honored to collaborate with Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Korea's top cultural and artistic institution. Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-koo Foundation will do its best together with Sejong Center to advance the cultural ecosystem and lead nationwide cultural enjoyment through the promotion of cultural and artistic revitalization and the spirit of sharing."


The musical play "Kim Deok-su Jeon," which portrays the life of Kim Deok-su, was produced and scripted by Professor Lee Dong-yeon of Korea National University of Arts, with director Park Geun-hyung participating as part of the production team. This performance is offered free of charge to all seats to support citizens exhausted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and for those unable to visit the venue, it will be broadcast live online via Naver TV starting at 7:30 PM on the 29th.
