[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation)'s official citizen communication body, the 'SH Citizen Shareholders Group,' announced on the 29th that it is actively conducting activities such as holding meetings of the SH Citizen Shareholders Group's subcommittees.
SH Corporation declared itself a citizen shareholder company at the corporation's vision proclamation ceremony in January last year and established the SH Citizen Shareholders Group, composed of 100 citizen shareholders, in October of the same year.
The 100 members of the SH Citizen Shareholders Group were organized into four subcommittees considering the corporation's various business areas: the 'Planning and Compensation' subcommittee, the 'Design and Construction' subcommittee, the 'Housing Supply' subcommittee, and the 'Facility and Operations Management' subcommittee. Each committee assigned 25 citizen shareholders based on their interests and expertise.
Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the SH Citizen Shareholders Group initially formed the subcommittees online through a mobile platform, then held the first committee meetings offline over two days, on the 19th and 26th, at the 'Cheongsinho Myeongdong' promotional center.
During these subcommittee meetings, the selection of subcommittee chairpersons took place, and SH Corporation's responsible staff introduced the corporation's business tasks by subcommittee. A Q&A session between employees and citizen shareholders enhanced understanding of SH Corporation's projects. Additionally, policy proposals such as the 'need for measures to alleviate conflicts in mixed complexes' and the 'active introduction of universal design in planning' were presented through the subcommittee meetings.
SH Corporation plans to review these citizen shareholder policy proposals with relevant departments and discuss outstanding proposals as agenda items at the '2020 First Half SH Citizen Shareholders Group Policy Forum' scheduled for next month, reflecting citizens' opinions in projects and policies.
Kim Seyong, President of SH Corporation, stated, "The SH Citizen Shareholders Group is a strong partner for the corporation's development into a 'smart citizen company.' SH Corporation will continue to communicate with the SH Citizen Shareholders Group and strive to be a lifelong friend standing by the side of Seoul citizens."
