[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 29th that it will provide energy vouchers to energy-vulnerable groups to purchase electricity, kerosene, LPG, briquettes, etc., in order to eliminate energy welfare blind spots.

The support targets are households that receive livelihood or medical benefits and include elderly people (born on or before December 31, 1955), infants and toddlers (born on or after January 1, 2014), persons with disabilities, pregnant women (currently pregnant or within six months after childbirth), patients with severe diseases, patients with rare diseases, patients with severe intractable diseases, single-parent families, and children from youth-headed households (including children under foster care).

Eligible applicants can apply for summer cooling and winter heating vouchers at the town or township offices of their registered residence from the 27th until December 31.

Households that received support last year and have no changes in information such as moving or number of household members will be automatically applied. The support amount varies depending on the season and the number of household members.

For summer, the amounts are 7,000 KRW for single-person households, 10,000 KRW for two-person households, and 15,000 KRW for households of three or more. For winter, the amounts are 88,000 KRW for single-person households, 124,000 KRW for two-person households, and 152,000 KRW for three-person households.

The usage period for summer is from July 1 to September 30, and for winter from October 14 to April 30 of the following year. Remaining balances from summer can be carried over for use in winter.

In summer, the amount is deducted from the electricity bill via a virtual card, while in winter, applicants can choose either deduction from the bill using a virtual card or receive a physical card to selectively purchase energy sources.

For more detailed information, please contact the town or township office of your residence.
