AmorePacific Disabled Workplace WithDream, 'Duo Day' Event

[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] With Dream (CEO Jeong-yeol Lee), a subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled under Amorepacific, held a 'Duo Day' event on the 28th as part of efforts to improve awareness of employment for people with disabilities, together with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled and 12 ambassadors from the European Union stationed in Korea.

Started in Ireland in 2008 and spread to European countries, the Duo Day event is an occasion where participants from companies, institutions, and organizations pair up with people with disabilities as 'duos' to work together and experience jobs firsthand. It was created to promote the abilities of people with disabilities and improve social awareness of their employment.

On this day, participants toured the workplaces of With Dream employees, who were evaluated as excellent companies by the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, and experienced the jobs together. Attendees included Cho Jong-ran, President of the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, related officials, National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee members Lee Yong-deuk and Lee Sang-don, as well as ambassadors and representatives from 12 European Union countries including France, Italy, and Germany.

First, the participants worked alongside With Dream employees performing part of the logistics system tasks for Amorepacific product delivery to deepen their understanding. They also observed service jobs that have been expanded beyond product packaging to discover and implement suitable jobs according to different types of disabilities.

Additionally, they experienced 'Kaon,' a steam car wash service operated to support Amorepacific employees' welfare, and 'Raon,' where visually impaired massage therapists holding nationally certified massage therapist licenses provide manual therapy massages.

Meanwhile, With Dream has been operating as a subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled under Amorepacific since 2016. Last year, it received the Minister of Employment and Labor Award, the highest prize for the 'Comfortable Workplace of the Year,' and a commendation from the Governor of Gyeonggi Province for excellence in employing people with disabilities. Furthermore, all proceeds from Raon and Kaon are donated in the name of the service users.
