Lotte Department Store Hosts Photo Art Festival 'Botong-ui Yeoreum'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Lotte Department Store will hold a photo art festival titled "Ordinary Summer" at four stores including the main store and Jamsil branch from the 29th to July 12th. Starting from the 1st of next month, submissions for a customer photo contest themed around summer will be accepted, and the winning works will be exhibited at Lotte Department Stores nationwide from July 14th.

The theme of this photo exhibition is "Ordinary Summer." It showcases photographic works that allow customers, who are mentally and physically exhausted due to the impact of COVID-19, to feel the preciousness of everyday life. Three female photographers (Jeong Gyeong-ja, Heo Yu, Kim Mute) present works themed on "daily life," and works by Yoon Hyun, the winner of last summer's customer photo contest, can also be appreciated.

Additionally, an art market selling the exhibited photographers' works will be held at The Wave popup event hall on the basement first floor of Lotte Department Store’s main branch. In collaboration with ‘291 Photographs,’ Lotte Department Store’s photo complex cultural space, products such as vintage film cameras, posters, and masking tapes will be showcased along with photographic works.

A customer photo contest themed on summer will also be held. The submission period is from the 1st to the 21st of next month. Winners will be announced on the 26th through the Lotte Department Store application and website. The first-place winner (1 person) will receive a gift certificate worth 1,000,000 KRW, while second place (2 people) and third place (3 people) will receive gift certificates worth 500,000 KRW and 300,000 KRW respectively. The winning works will be exhibited at Lotte Department Stores nationwide from July 14th to August 17th. Additionally, an opportunity to sell works will be provided at the ‘291 Photographs’ store in AvenueL World Tower branch.
