Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-koo Foundation and Sejong Center Join Hands to Revitalize Cultural and Arts Projects

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation and Sejong Center for the Performing Arts have joined hands to expand the cultural and artistic base accessible to citizens.


The Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation announced on the 29th that it signed a business agreement on the 28th at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts to revitalize cultural and artistic projects. Through this agreement, both organizations will jointly promote cooperative projects to increase opportunities for citizens to experience cultural and artistic performances.

First, on the 28th at Sejong Center’s M Theater, they co-hosted the musical drama "Kim Deok-Soo Jeon (傳)" depicting the life story of master Kim Deok-Soo, and the performance will be broadcast live via Naver V Live starting at 7:30 PM that evening.


This performance is a musical drama produced to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the stage career of Kim Deok-Soo, the founder of Samulnori. Professor Dong-Yeon Lee of Korea National University of Arts was in charge of overall production and scriptwriting, and director Geun-Hyung Park participated as part of the production team. Notably, this performance was provided free of charge to all pre-booked audience members in connection with the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation’s social contribution project, the Art World Village Project, which aims to spread culture in everyday life.


Going forward, the two organizations plan to cooperate in nurturing cultural and artistic talents, jointly host various contents to revitalize culture and arts, and actively promote exchange projects utilizing the spaces of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.


Kwon Oh-Kyu, Chairman of the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation, said, "The Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation will do its best together with Sejong Center for the Performing Arts to develop the cultural ecosystem and lead the public’s cultural enjoyment through the activation of culture and arts and the spread of the spirit of sharing."


Kim Sung-Kyu, President of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, responded, "Taking this business agreement with the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation as an opportunity, both organizations will combine their diverse capabilities to continuously cooperate on cultural and artistic projects that make artists and citizens happier."
