Personal Audio Broadcast 'Spoon Radio' Obtains ISO Information Security Certification

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Spoon Radio, a personal audio broadcasting platform operated by CEO Choi Hyuk-jae, announced on the 29th that it has obtained the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) information security certifications 'ISO/IEC27001' and 'ISO/IEC27701.'

These are recognized as the most prestigious certifications in the fields of information security and personal data protection, representing international standard information security certification and international standard personal information protection management system certification, respectively.

Spoon Radio acquired these certifications by passing a total of 114 management criteria across 14 areas including security policy, physical security, and access control, as well as 49 criteria across 8 areas including personal information protection systems and service stability.

Since May last year, Spoon Radio has focused on strengthening platform security by establishing an information security group led by Dr. Shin Dong-hyuk, an information security expert with experience at online companies and startups such as Naver, Coupang, and Daily Hotel.

Shin Dong-hyuk, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Spoon Radio, stated, "Obtaining this international standard information security certification will serve as an opportunity for Spoon Radio's global services, including those in the United States, to gain greater trust. We will further enhance our security level by acquiring the ISMS (Information Security Management System) certification scheduled for the second half of this year."

The real-time audio broadcasting platform Spoon Radio started its service in South Korea in March 2016 and now operates in 20 countries including the United States, Japan, Indonesia, and Vietnam, establishing itself as a global platform used by approximately 3 million people worldwide every month.
