[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said on the 29th, "In today's meeting, we discussed action plans for logistics centers of online distribution companies, and the government and local governments will conduct a thorough inspection," adding, "The quarantine authorities and each local government should find these facilities one by one and check the quarantine status."
Prime Minister Chung presided over the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters (CDSCH) meeting for COVID-19 response at the Government Seoul Office and stated, "In enclosed places with high labor intensity and frequent contact among colleagues, more meticulous quarantine efforts are necessary."
He emphasized, "As infection cases are increasing in workplaces such as logistics centers, the sense of responsibility of companies is very important," and added, "Quarantine support for workers should not be neglected just because they are part-time or daily workers."
He further said, "Once again, I request active cooperation from companies," and added, "Please strive to ensure the safety of each and every employee. We must not lose much by saving little."
Prime Minister Chung also said, "From June 1st, applications for emergency employment stabilization subsidies will begin, and emergency mask supply adjustment measures will also be eased," and instructed, "The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety should prepare without any setbacks and explain the details thoroughly to the public."
Additionally, he said, "With the resumption of economic activities in Europe and the United States, international air travel demand is expected to gradually increase," and requested, "Please analyze in advance the impact of these movements on our economy and quarantine, and establish proactive measures."
