Recruiting a total of 33 university students for 5 days from June 1... Work starts from July 6... Providing economic independence and job experience opportunities to Mapo-gu university students
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) will recruit students to participate in the summer vacation part-time job program for university students in the area, which will be operated for 4 weeks from July 6 to July 31, starting June 1.
The district has been promoting the university student part-time job project every year to provide local university students on vacation with opportunities to participate in district administration and gain a proper understanding of the public service sector, helping them gain social experience and earn tuition fees.
The recruitment period is 5 days from June 1 to June 5, targeting university students enrolled or on leave under the Higher Education Act who reside in Mapo-gu as of June 1, the start date of the application.
A total of 33 students will be recruited, of which 10 will be given priority selection, including basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, registered disabled persons, families with three or more children, North Korean defectors, multicultural families, and national veterans.
University students wishing to apply for the summer vacation part-time job can apply through the 'Mapo-gu website' during the recruitment period. The final candidates will be selected by a computerized public lottery, and the lottery results will be announced on the district office website around 6 p.m. on June 19.
Selected students will work 5 days a week, 5 hours a day, assisting with district administration and civil service guidance at Mapo Central Library, various departments, and community service centers.
In particular, considering the ongoing spread of COVID-19, students participating in this summer vacation part-time job will be reminded again during the pre-orientation about infection prevention rules to be observed during their work, and strict compliance will be requested.
For more detailed information about the university student part-time job recruitment, please refer to the notices on the Mapo-gu website or contact the Mapo-gu Autonomous Administration Division for guidance.
Yoo Dong-gyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “I understand that it has been difficult for university students to find part-time jobs or other employment recently due to COVID-19. I hope many students participate in this summer vacation part-time job program to gain some social experience and use it as an opportunity to explore their career paths.”
