[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Gas has launched efforts to strengthen customer service. Since the removal of LPG usage restrictions in March last year, SK Gas has been focusing on attracting customers and is now conducting its first customer event of the year.
SK Gas’s membership service, ‘Haengbok Chungjeon’ (Happiness Recharge), will hold an event called ‘Triple Challenge’ starting June 1 for its registered customers.
‘Triple Challenge’ combines ‘Challenge,’ which refers to consumer-driven campaigns like the ‘Bouquet Challenge’ that supports flower farms by gifting flowers, and the ‘Thanks to You Challenge’ that encourages medical staff working to treat and prevent the spread of COVID-19, with ‘Triple,’ representing the three benefits SK Gas provides to consumers: ‘time benefits,’ ‘environmental benefits,’ and ‘economic benefits.’
Consumers who join SK Gas’s Haengbok Chungjeon membership and use the charging stations can enjoy three benefits: economic benefits by purchasing daily necessities at affordable prices along with LPG refills, environmental benefits by using LPG vehicles that do not worry about fine dust, and time benefits by being able to purchase various necessary items directly at the charging station.
As the first event of the ‘Triple Challenge,’ SK Gas offers customers the chance to purchase one box (20 bottles) of 500ml bottled water once per day for 2,990 OK Cashback points. Customers who join the Haengbok Chungjeon membership receive 3,000 points immediately, or they can use their existing points to purchase bottled water at the station after refilling LPG worth 20,000 KRW or more on the same day.
This event will continue until the end of the year at 202 charging stations nationwide (searchable on the SK LPG Membership website), and the range of purchasable items will gradually increase. SK Gas plans to stock many eco-friendly products that match the image of LPG as an environmentally friendly fuel, allowing customers to buy them at LPG charging stations.
There is also an event for customers purchasing new LPG vehicles. SK Gas, in partnership with Kia Motors, will provide exclusive membership cards to customers who purchase K5 and K7 LPi models from June to August this year. For one year thereafter, presenting this card at any SK charging station nationwide will earn double OK Cashback points. Additionally, customers who register this card with SK Gas’s Haengbok Chungjeon membership and use the charging stations will be entered into a monthly drawing for three months, with 20 winners each month receiving 2 million points, equivalent to the average annual LPG vehicle refueling cost.
The Haengbok Chungjeon membership, which can be joined immediately via the mobile Syrup app, grants 3,000 points upon registration. Through the ‘Stamp’ feature, customers receive additional points after 3, 6, 9, and 12 visits to charging stations: 1,000 points, 1,000 points, 2,000 points, and 2,000 points respectively, which can be used for payments. Furthermore, customers can earn extra points daily (once per day) by participating in a roulette event.
In addition, a ‘Spring Happiness Recharge Giveaway’ event is underway for customers who recharge 20,000 KRW or more after joining Haengbok Chungjeon. Prizes include one K5 2.0 LPi vehicle, 20 vehicle air purifiers, LPG refueling coupons, and other generous gifts.
