[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…The European Tour will resume in July.
The European Tour office announced on the 29th (Korean time) that "the season will restart in July with the 'UK Swing'." This marks a comeback after a four-month shutdown due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) since March 8. Following the British Masters held in England on July 22, the England Open, England Championship, Celtic Classic, Wales Open, and UK Championship will be held consecutively for six weeks in the UK without spectators.
This season will continue until December. Detailed schedules between September and November will be confirmed and announced later. Among the 'Rolex Series,' the remaining four events are planned to be held: the Scotland Open and BMW PGA Championship in October, and the Nedbank Challenge and DP World Tour Championship in December. The European Tour explained, "Due to the shortened schedule this year, players who hold tour seeds for the 2020 season will retain their eligibility to participate in 2021 as well."
