Namwon Municipal Gugak Orchestra to Hold Regular Performances "Eol~ssu!" at Gwanghallu Garden Starting June The Namwon City Gugak Orchestra will hold regular performances at Gwanghallu Garden from the 3rd of next month until July 22nd this year.

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] The regular performances at Gwanghallu Garden by the Namwon Municipal Gugak Orchestra will begin in June.

The Namwon Municipal Gugak Orchestra announced on the 27th that the first half of this year's regular performances at Gwanghallu Garden will be held from July 3rd to July 22nd.

The Gwanghallu Garden Traditional Sound Pavilion, featuring traditional gugak performances, will take place every Wednesday at 2 PM on the Wanwoljung pavilion.

The night scenery of Gwanghallu offers various gugak performances such as folk music and fusion gugak every Friday at 8 PM along with the beautiful night view. These regular performances are free for all visitors to Gwanghallu Garden.

To prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Namwon Municipal Gugak Orchestra will enforce mandatory mask-wearing for the audience, spaced seating, temperature checks, and hand sanitizer availability, strictly adhering to social distancing guidelines during the performances.

Starting in July, a new changgeuk (traditional Korean opera) performance will begin. This year’s nighttime regular performance utilizing hanok resources, Namwon Changgeuk "Sireureong Silgeong Topjiriya!" will open on July 4th and run every Saturday at 8 PM at the An Sook-sun Master’s Journey until September 26th.

Additional Friday performances are scheduled from July 24th to August 29th for one month. This year, to revive the social atmosphere and local economy affected by COVID-19, a "Good Discount" of 50% off will be offered to all audience members.

This performance, which actively engages the audience with a restructured version of the Pansori Heungbuga, highlights the unique humor and wit of pansori, with the Namwon Municipal Gugak Orchestra delivering spectacular and diverse performances at every climactic moment.

Additionally, live folk music accompaniment will captivate the audience’s eyes and ears.
