[AKyung Hit Product] Genesis G80 Surpasses 30,000 Cumulative Contracts in Just Two Months

[Asia Economy Reporter Woo Su-yeon] The 3rd generation fully redesigned G80 from Hyundai Motor Company's premium brand Genesis is making new history in the mid-size premium sedan market, surpassing 30,000 cumulative contracts just over two months after its launch.

It continues to gain popularity based on its elegant design, dynamic powertrain, and proven safety.

The Genesis G80 led the birth of the Genesis brand with the 1st generation model (BH) in 2008 and the 2nd generation model (DH) in 2013. From the 2016 2nd generation facelift model, it was released under the name G80, and the recently launched new vehicle is the 3rd generation fully redesigned model released after seven years.

The G80 features an elegant and dynamic exterior design and a spacious interior emphasizing the beauty of empty space. The front showcases the Crest grille, a signature design element of Genesis, and quad lamps with a two-line design, emphasizing a modern image. The interior design enhances driver convenience by optimizing the layout of controls while adding a spacious personal space.

Additionally, the vehicle is 125kg lighter than the 2nd generation and is equipped with three engine options: gasoline 2.5 turbo, gasoline 3.5 turbo, and diesel 2.2, securing dynamic driving performance. The gasoline 2.5 turbo model delivers a maximum output of 304 horsepower and a maximum torque of 43.0 kgf·m, with a fuel efficiency of 10.8 km/ℓ. The diesel 2.2 model offers a maximum output of 210 horsepower, maximum torque of 45.0 kgf·m, and fuel efficiency of 14.6 km/ℓ.

The new G80 is also equipped with advanced safety features prioritizing safety. It includes 'Highway Driving Assist II' technology, which responds to vehicles suddenly cutting in during congested traffic as well as highway driving assistance. The G80's starting prices are 52.47 million KRW for the gasoline 2.5 turbo (based on reduced individual consumption tax), 59.07 million KRW for the gasoline 3.5 turbo, and 54.97 million KRW for the diesel 2.2.
