[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The merger task force between the United Future Party and the Future Korea Party announced on the 25th, "The Korea Party plans to hold a Supreme Council meeting on the 26th, and the United Future Party will hold a National Committee meeting at 4 p.m. on the 27th to submit agenda items related to the merger."

United Future Party lawmaker Kim Sang-hoon, Future Korea Party Secretary-General Yeom Dong-yeol, and Future Korea Party elected member Choi Seung-jae met with reporters after a casual meeting at the National Assembly Members' Office Building that afternoon and said, "If it passes at the United Future Party National Committee, a joint meeting of the task force will be scheduled, and at that time, the final decision on the registration details with the Election Commission for the merger will be made."

Regarding the party name upon the merger of the two parties, lawmaker Kim said, "The emergency response committee will probably decide on a new party name."

On the possibility of adopting a third party name, lawmaker Kim said, "There probably won't be much discussion about the party name at the joint meeting," and added, "If the party constitution is amended, we will follow that accordingly."
