V60 Dual Screen Front and Rear Simultaneous Shooting Feature Promotion
Deleted After Controversy Over Plot Featuring Man Taking Secret Photos
LG Electronics Poland Branch Apologizes After Video Removal
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] LG Electronics' Poland branch faced criticism after posting a promotional video depicting the use of the 'V60 ThinQ' and its dual screen feature to secretly film hidden cameras.
On the 24th (local time), LG Electronics Poland posted a video on its official TikTok account promoting the V60 ThinQ's 'Penta Shot' feature, which allows simultaneous use of the dual screen and front and rear cameras. The video recorded over 2 million views.
In the promotional video, an elderly man secretly films a young woman wearing a skirt as she climbs stairs from behind. When the woman realizes this, she takes the man's phone and checks the stored photos, but finds only selfies taken by the man instead of hidden camera footage, and returns the phone. After the woman leaves, the man happily looks through photos he took of the woman's back.
After the video sparked controversy, LG Electronics Poland deleted it and issued an apology. LG Electronics Poland stated, "Recently, content that did not align with the company's policies and standards was posted. The corporate digital marketing team failed to properly filter the content, and it was immediately deleted. We apologize for any discomfort caused by the careless content. We will strive to ensure that such incidents do not happen again."
