Strengthening the Area Around Seonyudo Station in Seoul... Also Promoting Han River Development

[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Seoul City is initiating transit-oriented development around Seonyudo Station on Subway Line 9.

Seoul City announced on the 22nd that the Urban and Architectural Joint Committee's Subcommittee approved the revised district unit plan area and district unit plan decision for the area surrounding Seonyudo Station at the meeting held on the 21st.

The target area is around Seonyudo Station on Subway Line 9, located at 50 Yangpyeong-dong 5-ga, Yeongdeungpo-gu. To strengthen the transit-oriented functions and establish a planned management approach for the semi-industrial zone, a new district unit plan area (268,026㎡) will be designated.

As a result, building use, density plans, and building line plans will be established, and to induce strategic development along the Han River area, three special planning zones, including 111 Yangpyeong-dong 5-ga, will be newly created.

A Seoul City official stated, “The district unit plan decision for the Seonyudo Station area is expected to lead to revitalization of the area and inject vitality into the local economy.”
