'The Taste of Wife' Ham So-won's Mother-in-Law Faces Health Warning: "A Walking General Hospital"

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Ham So-won's mother-in-law was diagnosed with several diseases following a health checkup.

On the afternoon of the 12th, the TV Chosun variety show 'Taste of Wife' aired a scene where the couple Ham So-won and Jin Hua visited the hospital with her mother-in-law.

In the broadcast, Ham So-won and Jin Hua took the mother-in-law to get a health checkup. The mother-in-law had shown warning signs regarding her health, including a 5kg weight loss over three months.

The doctor suggested to Ham So-won, "(Mama) shows symptoms of gastritis and other signs," recommending a health examination. The mother-in-law, feeling unwell, even refused food, causing concern for Ham So-won.

The test results revealed that Mama had arteriosclerosis and gallstones. Left alone, she kept sighing and made a video call to her husband to share her feelings.

Mama told her husband, "I didn't tell the kids because I was worried they'd be concerned, but I was in a lot of pain. After seeing the results, I might have to go to China or something," adding, "The kids are working, and if I get sick, it would be difficult. Honestly, the tests are scary."

Watching this in the studio, Jin Hua expressed worry, saying, "It's the first time I've seen my mother so weak."

During the endoscopy, multiple polyps were also found in the mother-in-law. The doctor explained, "She is like a walking general hospital. She has arteriosclerosis and hyperlipidemia," and added, "Importantly, she also has cholelithiasis. Surgery is the appropriate course."
