[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Kang Seok and Kim Hye-young, the hosts of MBC Standard FM's long-running flagship program 'Single Bungle Show,' are stepping down after 36 years.

On the 6th, MBC announced that, in line with the spring programming reshuffle, the DJs of 'Single Bungle Show' will be replaced from Kang Seok and Kim Hye-young to Jung Young-jin and Bae Ki-sung.

Kang Seok has been hosting 'Single Bungle Show' since 1984. Kim Hye-young joined in 1987 and worked alongside Kang Seok. In particular, Kang Seok's parody satirical skits featuring impressions of celebrities gained great popularity.

Both received the Golden Mouse Award from MBC Radio Bureau in 2005 and 2007 respectively, given to DJs who have hosted for over 20 years, and were recognized as the longest-running single program hosts among existing radio shows.

In an interview with a media outlet on the day, Kang Seok said, "It was a radio program full of nostalgia for adults, so it's very regrettable. I devoted my youth to it. It feels like retiring after a long career." He added, "Kim Hye-young and I agreed to work hard until the end. I believe finishing neatly with our best effort is a way to repay our listeners," expressing his thoughts on stepping down.

He also added, "After the radio ends, I plan to meet friends and enjoy lunches like others, which I haven't been able to do for 36 years."

Kang Seok and Kim Hye-young will put down their microphones after the broadcast on the 10th. After the live broadcast, they are scheduled to receive a plaque of appreciation from the MBC Radio Headquarters.

Meanwhile, 'Single Bungle Show' is a satirical current affairs radio program that first aired on October 8, 1973, and was hosted by Heo Cham, Song Hae, Park Il, Song Do-sun, among others.
